Job Description: Construction Site Supervisor

Habitat for Humanity is a non-governmental organization that seeks to eliminate substandard housing in Malaysia. Habitat Malaysia partners with families in need from all backgrounds, ethnic groups and religions to build decent homes in partner communities. In Malaysia, Habitat has ‘resource centers’ in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu that act as the construction arm of Habitat adapting construction methods to reach the needs of the poor. Habitat has built 179 homes in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control of material and site specifications for low-cost house builds activities.
  • Standing supervision on sub contractor works or build-team.
  • Supervision of architecture to ensure works are organized properly and on schedule.
  • Update site diary and assist Site agent in preparation of monthly progress report.
  • Preparation of site related works relevant documents such as site memo, letters, work method statement etc.
  • Assist in making plan for implementation of projects
  • Assist in looking for & applicable technologies from other regional affiliates.
  • Assist in implementation of all activities relating to house build.

Requirements: 

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate from CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board – http://www.cidb.gov.my).
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Applicants must be willing and happy to work with poor families.
  • Good working knowledge in using computer software would be necessary for reporting purposes.
  • Good communication skill in English. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese would be helpful. 
  • Good health and able to work on the sites in challenging conditions.
  • Malaysian citizen only.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel.
